Filmi-Fusion Dance Championships

The sixth annual Filmi-Fusion Dance Championships dazzle and delight with costumes and dancing when Bollywood America brings India’s cultural phenomenon downtown this weekend. Shows blend belly dancing and Hindi cinema to create an electrifying take on storytelling.

Eleven teams from around the country — and Canada — compete for the title and bragging rights. Expect a mix of traditional and contemporary acts from companies like The Manhattan Project, South Asian Showdown, and Arizona State University’s Andaaz club.

Doors open at 4 p.m. and the show begins at 5, continuing until 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Orpheum Theater, 203 West Adams Street. Admission is $20 to $35 with a $2 service charge. Tickets are available through or by calling the box office at 602-262-6225.
