This week: The Mandarin Raimu at Sens Asian Tapas and Sake Bar

When it comes to Phoenix drinking establishments: A good man shochu Martini is hard to find. Luckily, Johnny Chu's Sens has us covered. Because well, who needs a man when you have a martini? Especially the gentle touch of the Mandarin Raimu.

We may have asked wtf a kumquat and a shochu was before our little visit to Sake Paradise but we soon found out all we needed to know-- they taste damn awesome together.

(recipe after the jump.)

Ingredients:
1 oz Dry Sake
1/2 oz Sens infused ginger shochu
1/2 oz Mandarin orange juice
1 pinch fresh mint
1 whole kumquat

Muddle mint and whole kumquat together in a shaker. Add in ice, sake, shochu and madarin orange juice and sake-it-to that shaker. Strain contents into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a pretty sprig of mint. Let the subtle sophistication hit your lips, then go home to change your fb relationship status.
