The average American consumes about 12 chicken wings in one sitting; the world record for most chicken wings eaten in a sitting is 444 in just 30 minutes. If you find yourself somewhere in the middle of the two, get yourself to Wingstock. At Mesa’s yearly celebration of the beloved chicken wing, you can taste wings from more than a dozen Valley restaurants and vote to crown one King of Wings while listening to great live music. Brave souls can even try to smash that aforementioned record in one of the festival’s wing-eating contests.
Wingstock flaps into Mesa from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at the Mesa Amphitheatre, 263 North Center Street. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 day of. Visit wingstockaz.com for more.
