It’s technically almost autumn, which means there’s a familiar scent in the breeze in Phoenix – weed. Thanks to temperatures dropping to not-quite-infernal levels, festivals are in full bloom. Here are five smoky soirees taking place around Arizona in the coming weeks.

Errl Camp Fall 2021
September 24-26 at Jackpot Ranch in Camp Verde

This cannabis camp has heavy nature-lover appeal: camping, fishing, boating, hiking, tubing, even a scavenger hunt and a horseshoe championship. Happy campers can visit an outdoor emporium of cannabis products from sponsored dispensary displays, nosh on food for purchase, and bob their heads to live music. No alcohol allowed. Tickets cost $10-$180, depending on camping space type. Free day passes for Saturday, September 25 are also available. theerrlcup.com/errlcamp

Nirvana Center 5-Year Anniversary
September 25 at the Phoenix dispensary location

Deals, deals, deals. Steep percentages off products from flower to edibles to vape pens and more are reason enough to celebrate the Nirvana Center’s 5-year anniversary at the company’s Phoenix location, 2 North 35th Avenue (near Washington Street). nirvanacenter.com

710 Degree Cup
October 16-17 at Thompson Event Center in Mesa

Held at the same venue that hosts the Scarizona Scaregrounds, the 710 Degree Cup (another Errl Cup event) helps usher in the feeling of fall with a cannabis competition. There are 34 different categories in the 710 Degree Cup, and patients can sign up to be judges. Any adult 21 or older can get free admission to the event, which of course will include a plethora of pot product vendors. theerrlcup.com/cannabis-events-near

Cannaval 2021
November 6 at Thompson Event Center in Mesa

This, as Jay of Jay and Silent Bob would say, is “the fatty boom-batty blunt” of cannabis fall festivals. Six live bands, five full bars, 15 food trucks, and an array of entertainment including luchador wrestling, a master balloon artist, stilt walkers, samba dancers, and a 40-minute fire show ablaze with aerial acrobatics. Throw in a cornhole contest with a $3,000 prize and two VIP areas, and people will probably feel pretty high before even getting to the booths. Festivities last from noon until 1 a.m. Tickets cost $35 general admission, $100 VIP. cannaval.live
