If a heaping helping of '90s alt-rock with a side of street food sounds like your perfect weekend, the inaugural Sound Bites Music & Food Festival in Gilbert on Saturday might hit the spot.

The outdoor concert and culinary event takes place on Oct. 12 at Gilbert Regional Park. Arizona jangle-pop kings Gin Blossoms, best known for their crowd-pleased radio hits “Hey Jealousy” and “Follow You Down,” will headline the festival’s lineup of bands. Power rock trio The Black Moods and cover act High 90’s will also perform.

Sound Bites will also offer eats and drinks nine different local food trucks and multiple bars. The all-ages event will also feature local merchants and family-friendly activities and games.

When is Sound Bites Music & Food Festival?

Sound Bites Music & Food Festival takes place on Saturday, Oct. 12. Gates open at 2 p.m. and the festival ends at 9 p.m.

Where is Gilbert Regional Park?

Gilbert Regional Park is located at 3005 E. Queen Creek Road in Gilbert. The venue is located southwest of Higley and Queen Creek roads.

How much are Sound Bites Music & Food Festival tickets?

Tickets are available through eventbrite.com. General admission is $35 per person (plus fees and taxes). Cabanas are $800 and include a seated patio area, admission for eight people, two VIP parking passes and bar service. (Children under 12 years old are not permitted in cabana areas.)

Here’s when each band will perform:
  • High 90's, 2 to 4 p.m.
  • The Black Moods, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Gin Blossoms, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Where to park

Parking is available on-site at Gilbert Region Park starting at 1:30 p.m. for $15 per car.

Is tailgating allowed?

Nope.

Is Sound Bites a cashless event?

Vendors will accept card payments. No ATMs will be available at the venue.

Can I bring water or food to Sound Bites Music & Food Festival?

No outside food is allowed at the festival. Factory-sealed bottles of water are permitted. Drinking fountains will be available and vendors will have bottled water for sale.

Food and drink

According to festival organizers, nine local food trucks will sell options like barbecue, tacos, cheese steaks and chimichurri at the festival. Alcohol can be purchased by festivalgoers 21 and over with valid ID. Here’s the food truck lineup at Sound Bites Music & Food Festival:

Hats, sunscreen, bug spray, strollers a government-issued ID and seating like chairs and blankets are allowed.

Backpacks, briefcases, luggage and computer bags are not permitted at the festival. Other bags are subject to search by security.
