Wonder what a local Poison tribute band would do on the set of a major motion picture?
You may be unsurprised to learn they'd spend most of the time joking about using the star's toilet. Unskinny Bop, a cover band that has won "Best of Phoenix" awards the last two years, played Poison in Hot Tub Time Machine, a time-travel comedy set in the '80s and starring John Cusack, Rob Corddry, and Chevy Chase. HTTM was originally scheduled for release in February but will instead hit theaters on March 26.
In the meantime, we're disappointed to report that the band has been passed over for inclusion on the movie's soundtrack, which will instead feature two cover songs by Craig Robinson (Darryl from The Office), who did covers of Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl" and The Black Eyed Peas' "Let's Get It Started." It's maybe for the best, though, considering the album cover (below) might be the single ugliest thing I've ever seen.
In the meantime we have this video of the band on the set, joking about --and stalking -- John Cusack.

I especially like the scene where they joke about "taking a big old steamer in his trailer" and then mock Joan Cusack's looks.
No wonder these boys didn't make it on the soundtrack.
