You’ve tackled the gifts, dealt with your family, and had more than your fair share of yuletide nonsense. Now what? You might consider getting out of the house for a few hours, either to escape or just stretch your legs, and head to one of the many bars, nightspots, or drinkeries that will be open on both Christmas Eve or Christmas night.

If you need something stiff to get you through all the holiday nonsense – or want someplace to raise your spirits – they’ve got you covered. Each of the following spots in the Phoenix area will be open for business on either Monday, December 24, or Tuesday, December 25. Several spots will also have live music, DJs, bar games, or other distractions to boot.

Yucca Tap Room in Tempe
A favorite spot for all walks of life, the Yucca Tap Room will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas night. They'll also have their weekly open mic session from 8 to 11:30 p.m. on Monday evening.

Coach House in Scottsdale
This Scottsdale dive prides itself on being open for business every night of the year without fail, including throughout the Christmas holiday weekend. You can get an early start to boot as Coach House opens up at 6 a.m. each day.

Rhythm Room
Renowned harmonica player Billy Watson will jam with local act Bill Tarsha and the Rocket 88s during the Christmas Eve Blues Spectacular on December 24. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $10.

Valley Bar
DJ Petty Things will be playing an all-cassette set during the Music Box Christmas Skanker on Christmas Eve night in the Rose Room beginning at 9 p.m. It's free to attend.

Copper Blues Rock Pub & Kitchen
If you feel like testing your smarts, this CityScape spot will host the Team Trivia with the Geeks Who Drink from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday night.

Gracie's Tax Bar
According to the proprietors of this laid-back downtown Phoenix spot, they'll be serving starting at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and at 7 p.m. on Christmas night. The kitchen will be open and merriment will be on tap, as well as plenty of libations.

The Lost Leaf
Live music will be happening both nights at this hip beer and wine bar. Local three-piece jazz/funk/hip-hop ensemble Sans Pagaie will light up the Fifth Street beer and wine joint with their sounds on Christmas Eve. The next night, indie soul act Boketto will have its turn on stage. Lost Leaf will open at 5 p.m. both nights and the music starts at 9 p.m. There’s no cover.

Rips Ales & Cocktails
Spend your Christmas Eve singing your favorite songs (and maybe even some holiday favorites) during Rips' karaoke session from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Talent is optional, enthusiasm is appreciated. No cover.

Gypsy Bar
A special Christmas edition of Gypsy Bar's weekly Caliente Tuesday dance night will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight. DJs will be spinning bachata, merengue, Kizomba, and more. Admission is free.

Centrico
This Mexican restaurant and drinkery will be open on Christmas night from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. They'll have a late-night menu available and guest DJs dropping sounds.

Bikini Lounge
The historic Grand Avenue tiki bar will be open to the public and serving from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. As always, they’ll have cheap drinks and tunes on tap.

Cactus Jack’s
The All-Star Xmas Show at this Ahwatukee bar will feature members of Los Guys gathering together with friends and fellow musicians from around the Valley music scene on December 25 for an evening of performances. The lineup will include such acts and artists as The Pistoleros, Shawn Johnson, Walt Richardson, Ghetto Cowgirl, and others. The show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

TT Roadhouse
Partake in a few pints, fire up a few songs on the jukebox, or strike up a conversation with one of the regulars at TT Roadhouse. It’ll be open for business from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, and from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Karamba Nightclub
Ab Valdez will host a Christmas Karaoke session at Karamba on December 25 starting at 9 p.m. Drink specials will be available, and there's no cover.

Aint Nicks Tavern

Don your kookiest holiday PJs and head for this west-side bar, which will host a Christmas Eve Pajama Party. They’re planning a raffle for prizes, karaoke, and other fun. It kicks off at 9 p.m. No cover.

The Crescent be open on Christmas night and will offer tamales for sale (including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options), a trivia session for prizes, and holiday movies. Sign up for the trivia starts at 7 p.m.

Hard Rock Cafe
Feel free to stop by the Hard Rock in downtown Phoenix (look for the enormous neon guitar outside) for a drink or a nosh on either Christmas Eve or Christmas day. You can also ogle all the rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia or just rock out to the soundtrack playing over the sound system. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days.

Paris of Scottsdale
The annual Naughty or Nice Christmas Eve Affair will take place at this Scottsdale nightspot. DJ Kaydee and DJ Philo will be in the mix. Doors are at 10 p.m.

Ernie's Bar & Restaurant in Scottsdale
Don a Santa suit or other festive apparel appropriate to the season and head for this spot in North Scottsdale at its annual Christmas Eve Santa's party. It runs from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The Womack
The esteemed Roscoe Taylor and his band will host a "special holiday soiree" on December 24, that will also feature cocktails, camaraderie, and plenty of Christmas cheer. The party starts at 8 p.m. and there's no cover.

Swizzle Inn
It’s a tradition of many Valley drinkers and Swizzle Inn regulars to get a snootfull at this dive over the holidays, and the staff is more than happy to oblige them. They’ll be pouring drinks from 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve and starting at 6 p.m. on Christmas night.

Palo Verde Lounge in Tempe
Of course the Dirty Verde will be open over the holidays. In fact, the Tempe dive will probably be filled with all sorts of day-drinkers and other characters. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. both days.

Pomeroy’s
Need to get away from the annual onslaught of familial drama for a few hours? The staff at Pomeroy’s will be willing to pour you a drink and listen to your woes on both Christmas Eve and Christmas night. They'll have regular hours on Monday and will be open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Giligin's
The Scottsdale dive famed for its midget bar and off-kilter bar will be open during regular hours on Christmas Eve and from 6 to 2 a.m. on Christmas night.

Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino
If there’s one place you know will be open and operating on any holiday, its a casino. As a matter of fact, every single one in the Valley will be welcoming in gamblers, card sharps, and anyone else who feels lucky on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A few will also offer live music, including Wild Horse Pass in Chandler.
