UPDATE: Victims of Phoenix Quadruple Homicide Identified Along with Suspected Shooter

Five people were found shot to death at a Phoenix condominium complex near 17th Avenue and Hazelwood Street Saturday morning, October 26. Two dogs were also killed.

That makes at least nine shooting deaths in the metro Phoenix area in the past week.

According to Sergeant Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix PD, four bodies and two dogs were found in one condo, and the suspected shooter was found in the neighboring condo with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Thompson says that police were initially called at about 9 a.m. by someone saying their home had been shot at. When police and SWAT responded to the scene, they eventually made entry into a home where two victims were found on the patio area "obviously deceased," according to Thompson. A sweep of the condo turned up two more dead bodies and the two dead dogs.

A witness told police they saw a suspect entering the neighboring condo where the SWAT team found the suspected shooter dead. According to Thompson, the shooter was a white male in his mid 50s and is believed to have lived in the condo where his body was found.

No information was available on the type of gun that was used or a possible motive in the shooting.

"There are still a lot of unanswered questions," said Thompson.

Police did not release any information on the age or sex of the victims of the shooting.
