But what about your mom's famous queso dip? Well, she might have to use -- gasp -- actual cheese this year because Kraft Foods has warned that it may run short of its famous Velveeta processed cheese product.
The possible shortage comes at a time when the cheese product tends to be in popular demand, according to reports. That's due to the fact that people tend to use it in dips and cheesy casseroles during the NFL playoff season.

"It is possible consumers may not be able to find some Velveeta products on store shelves over the next couple of weeks," Kraft spokeswoman Jody Moore said Tuesday in an e-mail to Reuters. "This is really a short-term issue that's more noticeable right now given the increased seasonal demand. We have not heard many complaints from consumers so far."
The manufacturer hasn't given any other information about the reason for the lack of supply.
In case you're not familiar with Velveeta, it's a particularly soft and meltable type of "American cheese" -- which is not really a kind of cheese exactly, but rather a type of processed cheese product that's most often artificially colored to a yellowish color.
