In honor of Memorial Day, Valley restaurants are rolling out deals to honor veterans, active military members and their families. The holiday weekend also has dining deals and events available to all, so there is a little something for everyone to enjoy on the unofficial kick-off to summer. Here are 10 spots to eat and drink on Memorial Day weekend around metro Phoenix.

Sandfish Sushi and Whiskey

4232 N. Seventh Ave.
This Melrose District sushi bar is offering a 20% discount on Monday for active military personnel and veterans. That means savings on Sandfish’s tuna tataki tacos, shredded duck bao buns, crudos, sashimi and more in a sleek, Japandi-inspired dining room.

Patricia’s Pizza and The Italian Daughter

Active military service members and veterans will receive 20% off their bill at both of restaurateur Melissa Maggiore’s restaurants. At Patricia’s Pizza, diners can savor Neapolitan and Sicilian-style pies. The Italian Daughter’s menu includes flatbreads, pastas and bone-in steaks and chops.

Frasher's Smokehouse

3222 E. Indian School Road
Frasher's Smokehouse will host a Memorial Day barbecue that will help combat homelessness among veterans. The restaurant has partnered with the Home of Record Project and the Phoenix Symphony for this fundraiser. For $25, diners will get a barbecue buffet and hear live music from the symphony’s brass quintet. Four Branches Bourbon and Puro Cigar Bar will also be there offering pours and puffs. Proceeds benefit Home of Record, a Phoenix-based nonprofit.

Fogo de Chao extends discounts to military members, veterans and their families on Memorial Day.

Fogo de Chao is offering a 50% discount on a full churrasco meal for military veterans and active-duty personnel, along with a 10% discount for each of their guests. This means dishing up salads and starters from Fogo's Market Table as well as grilled and roasted meats carved tableside.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria

Multiple locations
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria offers a 15% discount at its six Valley locations every day of the year, valid for dine-in or takeout, to active military service members and veterans with proof of military ID. Stop by this weekend for a caprese salad and an Italian Hero pie.

Diego Pops

4338 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale
Diego Pops, an Old Town Scottsdale taco and tequila bar, will honor those who have served with a 20% discount on Monday. The offer is only valid for active military and veterans, and alcohol is excluded from the discount.

Kona Grill is celebrating Memorial Day with 20% off food all weekend for veterans, active-duty military, those in the reserves, first responders and gold star families. Food choices include sliders, flatbreads, pastas and traditional and specialty sushi rolls. Diners must show proof of ID to receive the discount.

The Hot Chick

What better way to kick off summer than with hot dogs and cold drinks? That’s the plan at The Hot Chick, which will host a Glizzy Party on Saturday. Late-night revelers who stick around until midnight will be rewarded with free hot dogs. The party will feature $10 specialty shots and $13 tequila watermelon smashes (which are available all weekend long).

Cider Corps will host a ruck on Memorial Day, followed by ciders and burgers from Que Chevre at its downtown Mesa taproom.

Cider Corps and Pedal Haus Brewery

The veteran-owned Cider Corps hosts a ruck, a walk with a weighted backpack, on Memorial Day. This year’s event will kick off at 8 a.m. at Pedal Haus Brewery’s Tempe location and follow along the Salt River to Cider Corps. The Mesa cidermaker will have neighbor Que Chevre on hand serving burgers to pair with its pours. At 3 p.m., Cider Corps will close and the party will move across Robson Street to Pedal Haus’ downtown Mesa location. Those who can't attend the ruck are welcome to join the party.

Queen Creek Olive Mill

25062 S. Meridian Road, Queen Creek
Take a short road trip to Queen Creek Olive Mill for its three-day Grill at the Mill event. Admission is free, and guests can expect a grilled menu, live music, lawn games in the grove and olive oil 101 tours throughout each day.
