Italian Culinary Tour and Real Cake Pops in Today's Eater's Digest

Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Italian Tour
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Italian Nation, the Italian Consulate of Arizona has team up with Valley restaurants to bring you the Culinary Tour of Italy. Experience the flavors of northern, southern and central regions of Italy from specially crafted prix-fixe menus created by 20 different Valley restaurants including Tomaso's, Avanti and Tutti Santi. Meals will range from $20 to $45 ++ per person. The tour starts Friday and runs through July 31st. Check out www.italianazvc.org for the complete list of participating restaurants.

Cake Pops for Real
Your standard cake pops are cute on the outside but lurking inside is a mess of cake crumbs and frosting. Gross and gross. But this newish gadget actually bakes balls of cake. No crumbs. No frosting. We actually want to try Christi from Love From My Oven's baked cake pops. Filled with buttercream and covered in chocolate. Hell yes! But we aren't going near those mushy frosting crumb things.
