New Coffee Shop Opens Inside The Hive Art Gallery in Central Phoenix

What the hell's a mud dauber? It's a wasp that builds its nest from mud. And with that out of the way, we can get to Mud Dauber Coffee, a new java shop in Central Phoenix.

Located inside The Hive, the gallery, studio space, and resale boutique at 2222 North 16th Street (16th and East Cypress Streets), Mud Dauber Coffee opened in December.

Wasps and hives? We're sensing a theme here.

Describing itself as liking "sustainability, country music, coffee (good coffee mind you), and bugs," Mud Dauber serves hot and cold coffee selections, hot chocolate, and a few snack items (think cupcakes).

Mud Dauber Coffee is open from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
