If ever there were a theme song for Scottsdale's current nightlife situation, it would undeniably be David Bowie's 1971 hit "Changes." Especially since Old Town's scene has been in major flux this summer. Renowned establishments like Sugar Daddy's and Mickey's Hangover have blinked out of existence and weeklies like House 7340 have changed venues and been supplanted by newer nights. Like Dream Fridays, for example, which has taken over Friday nights at Myst, 7340 East Shoeman Lane in Scottsdale. The recently launched dance spectacular has been S.R.O. during its first few weeks, thanks to a mix of free booze and hot beats. There's complimentary Hennessy Black from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Meanwhile, the duo of DJ Phlava and SugaBear, from 101.5 Jamz, spin R&B, hip-hop, and reggae all night. Willie Taylor from MTV's Making the Band and R&B act Day 26 will also make an appearance. Doors open at 9 p.m. and $5 cover is available until 10:30 p.m. for those who sign up for the guest list at www.aznightlife.com.
