Sam Pewitt doesn't look anything like White Goodman (Ben Stiller's character in the 2004 movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) but he cares about the sport with the same intensity. A Scottsdale businessman by day, Pewitt spends his nights and weekends playing a game most people haven't thought about since grade school. In 2006, he founded AZ Dodgeball, the Valley's only dodgeball league, after realizing the sport — popular in his home state of Washington — had no representation in Phoenix. In case you were wondering: Yes, it's exactly like you remember from childhood. Two teams throw balls at each other until only one person is left standing. The best part, according to Pewitt, is that anyone can play. This is one sport where you don't really have to be a super-athlete to have fun.
