Since there's really no better accessory than a cocktail in your hand, each week Jackalope Ranch brings you a tasty adult beverage from one of our favorite drinking establishments, complete with recipe. This week: English Garden at Hanny's.

The aptly named English Garden cocktail at Hanny's is a fresh and sophisticated take on the classic gin and cucumber combination. The aroma and flavor of juniper, cucumber, and elderflower blend to create a cocktail that is bright, floral, and green. A splash of lush English Garden is the perfect remedy to enliven these summertime doldrums.

(recipe after the jump)

3.5 oz. Hendrick's Gin (Hendrick's is strongly recommended, as it is cucumber infused)
1 oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
Three slices cucumber

Muddle two cucumber slices with the Hendrick's gin in a cocktail shaker until the cucumber is well crushed and has released its juices. Add the St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and crushed ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass garnished with a cucumber slice. Let this crisp, refreshing cocktail transport you to a cool, verdant garden (in mind, anyway, there's really nothing we can do about this soul crushing heat).
