When you enter Chandler’s Vision Gallery on Tuesday, July 6, you could get that “I’m in the wrong restroom” feeling. Just relax and come on in. That sensation of interrupting something is just you being art instead of looking at it. And the concept radiates from the paintings in An On-Site Artist Project of life-size, four-by-eight-inch panels arranged in a panoramic mural around the room.

The hyperrealistic subjects? Art Walk visitors who were photographed last month, gazing out of the frame at the wonder that is you. Oh, and the lady with the brush? That’s figurative painter Debra Jones. No, no, don’t come back later when she’s “finished” -- her continued creation of the watching audience while you watch is another aspect of the whole reality-bending concept. Hold too still, and who knows what might happen?

Tuesdays, Thursdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: July 6. Continues through July 22, 2010
