Here's some news that we don't need to sugar-coat.

New Times' second annual Sips & Sweets event will be held Saturday, June 17, at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix — and we've got the promo code for early ticket sales.

The sweet lineup will feature sweets from Doc Brown of Doc’s Artisan Ice Cream, Lindsey Magee of Ollie Vaughn’s, Cassie and Marlene Tolman of Pomegranate Café, Country and Sergio Velador of Super Chunk, Tracy Dempsey of Tracy Dempsey Originals, Jeff Kraus of Crepe Bar, and more.

Cocktails are coming from Anthony Escalante of Dust Cutter, Brandon Casey of The Ostrich, Brian Belvins of Artizen, Crafted American Kitchen & Bar, Liza Loewenhagen of The Vig, Matt Minsky of Hula’s Modern Tiki, and more.

In all, the event will feature 20 dessert makers, 10 mixologists, and many craftspeople.

The ticket presale begins today, Wednesday, April 19, at 10 a.m. Use the promo code SWEETS. (Tickets go on sale to the public on Monday, April 24.)

General admission tickets start at $25, including entry at 3 pm, unlimited sweets samples, up to 10 samples of cocktails, beer, and wine, and access to the handcrafted vendor village. VIP Tickets start at $40 and include all of the general admission perks plus entry at 2 p.m., and a special gift bag.
