Damon Brasch of Green is cooking up Thanksgiving this Thursday for all you vegan and vegetarians out there. Whose needs a thanksgiving full of animal proteins and dairy when you can have seitan turkey breast with vegan giblet gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing and all your other thanksgiving favorites. In addition to the grub, get down to live bands and DJ's plus an art exhibit. The best part, you won't have to listen to crazy aunt Pam drone on about how absurd it is be vegan. Jello Fruit Salad

Our favorite Holiday is only three days away and we can't wait to stuff our faces full of yummy food. Growing up, there was one thing that we chose to avoid every year, the dreaded jello salad. Normally a combination of some sort of fruit sadly suspended in an opaque pink, quivering mold set on top of a bed of lettuce. So gross. Yet no matter how many people politely left theirs untouched, it would be back the next year. Maybe if it looked as pretty as this Belvoir White Wine & Elderflower Fruit Jelly we would give it another chance.

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
