Looking for ways to fill up your weekend? Here are your five best bets for getting out and about in the Valley of the Sun.

Holiday Soiree @ Bunky Boutique 'Tis the season for holiday parties, and Bunky's is on our must-attend list. The shop will bring together soiree attendees with local jewelers to shop their collections. Photographer Enrique Garcia will snap complimentary portraits, and seasonal refreshments will be provided.

Get into the holiday spirit on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bunky Boutique. Admission is free.

Good 'N Plenty @ SMoCA Lounge Catch quick pitches from six local creatives, including Christy Puetz and Christian Filardo, who are vying for SMoCA's Good 'N Plenty arts grant at SMoCA Lounge on Friday at 7 p.m. Audience members will choose the winner after all contestants reveal their big ideas. Tickets are $10.

PepperMINT @ The Mint Get minty fresh at PepperMINT with a candy buffet for your inner Buddy the Elf, photo ops with Santa, and DJ MCB in the mix. The ladies of Scottsdale 16 host the bash at The Mint on Friday starting at 4 p.m. Call 480-516-9149 to make reservations.

Raven's 7th Annual Holiday Celebration @ El Santo The holiday haps keep on coming with Raven's party from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday. DJ Mos-Jef will spin festive jams and unwrapped toys will be accepted for St. Vincent De Paul at El Santo Cantina y Mas. There's no cover.

Sagittarius Blackout Party @ Roxy Lounge Congrats, Sagittarians, it's (probably) your birth month. Blow out those candles at Roxy Lounge on Saturday during the club's Blackout Party. While getting blackout drunk might be on your b-day agenda, the name of the event is more geared toward your ensemble. Sagsters get in for free before 11 p.m., as do folks dressed in black. Doors open at 10 p.m. Call 602-349-8707 for bottle service.

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
