Tryst Cafe

There are a lot of buzzwords flying around in the food industry right now. Organic, locally sourced, seasonal, natural – do they mean something, or are they just a marketing ploy? At Tryst Café, the selection of locally grown, hormone-free American fare is delicious enough to have any label it wants. Breakfast features Belgian waffles smothered in bananas foster, strawberry cheesecake, or candied walnuts, plus a few healthier options, like the Hawaiian breakfast plate with smoked kalua pork, cabbage, rice, and two eggs. Tryst Café also does a simple lunch justice with its roasted beet salad with hearty, sweet, and still “close to the earth” flavor pairing perfectly with goat cheese, arugula, and honey lime vinaigrette. The Roast Beast sandwich is just as tasty. You’ll need both hands to dip the stack of thinly sliced filet tips, pepper jack, and grilled red onions on ciabatta into the warm au jus.
