TEXAZ Grill Now through Sunday, October 19
In true Texas fashion, TEXAZ Grill is going big to celebrate the annual State Fair of Texas. That means that now through October 19 you can head to the Phoenix restaurant for dishes such as Fletcher's Original State Fair Corny Dog ($6) and a Frito Pie ($5), a Texas original creation of homemade chili served over a small bag of Fritos corn chips and topped with onions and cheese and served with a plastic spoon. Sweet treats include Blue Bell Cotton Candy Ice Cream ($1 per scoop) and Cotton Candy Lemonade ($7), a boozy combination of cotton candy vodka, lemonade, Blue Curacao, and garnished with a lemon slice. All specials are offered daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fired Pie Tuesday, October 7
Fired Pie's seventh Valley location will be opening on Tuesday -- and you know what that means? Free pizza! From 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the new location, you can swing by and get one free pizza or salad per person. Fired Pie allows diners to choose their own dough, sauce, and toppings to create your own pizza. The deal is available at the Fired Pie at 4905 E Ray Road, Suite #104 in Phoenix only.
TapHouse Kitchen Wednesday, October 8
TapHouse Kitchen in Scottsdale has officially launched its new fall menu. Created by chef Patrick Karvis, the autumnal menu includes dishes such as Stella Artois Beer Cheese Fondue with smoked paprika and roasted garlic bread, as well as Rack of Lamb dusted with herbs and fennel and served with roasted garlic whipped potatoes and sun dried tomato pesto. Karvis says fall is about all comfort food, so you can expect dishes that stick to your ribs -- or are ribs, like the Beef Short Ribs that are braised in Papago Brewy's Coconut Joe stout and served with roasted shallot risotto and sweet and sour pickled red cabbage. The new menu will be available through mid-December.

Fans of Arizona wine can head to Rancho Pinot in Scottsdale this week for a winemaker dinner with Kent Callaghan. The four course dinner will be paired with four of Callaghan's wines including 2012 Lisa's white blend, 2009 Padres red blend, and 2009 Cabernet Red Dessert. The food menu, prepared by chef Chrysa Robertson, includes dishes such as grilled scallops with fennel-crab-orange butter sauce, house cured grilled duck breast and sausage with pomegranate sauce, and toasted olive oil cake with roasted figs and sabayon. The Living Room DC
As of this week, The Living Room is now open at DC Ranch in north Scottsdale. The intimate wine cafe and lounge has taken over the former Armitage Bistro space and offers an eclectic sharable menu from chef Paul Steele. Steele's resume includes time at Silverleaf Country Club, Fox Restaurant Concepts, Tarbell's, and Phoenix Public Market Café. The wine bar serves more than 25 wines and sangrias by the glass, a handpicked list of wines by the bottle, beers, and a full line of spirits. For more information check The Living Room website.
