Listen up, oenophiles: Scottsdale restaurateur and wine enthusiast Peter Kasperski is set to face off against Carlo Mondavi of the famed Napa Valley winery in a Sommelier Showdown on Wednesday evening. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Cowboy Ciao, guests will be treated to a five-course meal with two wine pairings per course, one picked out by each of the dueling sommeliers. At the end of the meal, diners will vote on whose wine selection was best paired to the dish. The Sommelier Showdown costs $60 per diner. The seven-course dinner will feature dishes including beef carpaccio, a tenderloin prepared with pecorino, fried quail egg, citrus oil, micro arugula, and go lb. salt truffle salt paired with La Spinetta Rose.
