Although the new Sheraton Phoenix Downtown hotel wasn't scheduled to open until October, it's actually going to open a bit early -- and along with it, there will be a new restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner: District American Kitchen & Wine Bar. Following on the heels of the hotel's debut on September 29, the restaurant will open on September 30. District's grand opening will be on October 3.

Chef de cuisine Nathan Crouser, formerly of the Phoenician, will be cooking up "twists on American classics," with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. There will also be an extensive list of American wines and microbrews.

District has partnered with Paulina Miller Gallery for rotating art displays; in conjunction with First Fridays, it will also host arts-related speakers and demonstrations. Local bands will perform throughout the week, later in the evenings.
