As of April 1, Scottsdale has a new destination for sandwiches and salads in Leoni’s Focaccia, an Italian restaurant owned by a duo of familiar names in the Valley food scene. The lunch spot comes courtesy of husband-and-wife team Danielle Leoni and Dwayne Allen of The Breadfruit, the longstanding Caribbean restaurant in downtown Phoenix.
As we told you in January, Leoni’s Focaccia specializes in Roman-style focaccia, which serves as the foundation for the spot’s selection of sandwiches. Expect a menu of options ranging from about $8.50 for an albacore tuna, Pecorino Romano, and arugula sandwich to $10.50 for a sopressata, capicola, red onion, lettuce, roasted bell pepper, and vinaigrette-filled lunch.
In addition to the list of about a half-dozen sandwiches, the restaurant also offers salads, desserts, and drinks.
Leoni’s Focaccia, located at 7116 East Mercer Lane, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
