Don those aprons, home cooks. MasterChef, Fox's competitive cooking reality show judged by celebu-chef Gordon Ramsay, restaurateur and wine maker Joe Bastianich, and Graham Elliot, the Michelin-starred chef from Chicago, is looking for contestants for its fifth season -- and it's headed our way.
Following its first episode of MasterChef Junior, the kid version of the show, which premieres tonight on Fox, MasterChef will be at the Embassy Suites Biltmore from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m on Saturday, October 5, for an open casting call.
But (possible) fame comes with a few caveats. Here are a few:
- To audition, you'll need to bring one prepared dish to be served to the judges. And although you'll get time to plate it, there won't be a kitchen to cook it or warm it up. You'll also need to bring your own dishes and utensils. And if you take too damn long getting it ready, it's back to the end of the line for you.
- If you're selected to be on the show, you'll need to commit yourself to it for about nine weeks between the months of January and April of next year.

- Prohibited items at the audition include air mattresses, booze, fireworks, hair dryers, tents, weapons, and children under the age of 13.
- If you're parking at the audition site, it's gonna cost you $10 (and that's after you say you're there for MasterChef).
