It’s a packed sports week for Phoenix fans, starting with the WM Phoenix Open. Concerts and practice rounds have been taking place all week, and the first round of the "People's Open" begins at TPC Scottsdale on Thursday. In honor of the raucous, occasionally wet-and-wild tournament, Valley bars and restaurants have come up with specialty sips served off-course to match.

Here are five places to try drinks inspired by the “greatest show on grass.”

Among the specialty drinks at The Global Ambassador honoring the WM Open is Le Par, a vodka-based honeydew and mint tipple.

The Global Ambassador, the luxe Arcadia hotel created by the local restaurateur Sam Fox, has an obscenely opulent package to entice the highest-rolling jet setters descending on the Valley. If burning $250,000 on a weekend getaway is out of the question, you can still roll up to the hotel’s Lobby Bar for some limited-edition libations and stellar people-watching. Among the five cocktails The Global Ambassador has teed up for the weekend is Le Par. The tipple is made with Ketel One Vodka, mint, honeydew and Chandon Sparkling Wine and garnished with cucumber, a spring of fresh mint and a golf tee. The hotel’s specialty cocktails are available through Sunday, and the Lobby Bar will feature a golf-inspired takeover, including a Champagne bar and live DJ.

Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs, the sandwich shop chain with not-so-subtle nods to weed culture, has crafted a special cocktail inspired by the boozy, electric blue AMF. The company calls the cocktail “an escape from the ordinary.” It combines rum, tequila, gin, vodka, Blue Curaçao and housemade sour mix. The drink is topped with a full can of Red Bull and served in a trash can-shaped cup. Ordinary? Certainly not. A way to get your golf-loving heart pounding? Most definitely. The drink is available at Cheba Hut’s 10 Valley locations through Sunday, including its recently opened north Scottsdale location on Scottsdale Road near Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.

Pinnacle Brewing Co. has tapped a West Coast IPA called Golf Club. The beer is available on draft or in cans at the north Scottsdale brewery.

Pinnacle Brewing Co. is just around the corner from the action and the north Scottsdale brewery has released a West Coast-style IPA, aptly named Golf Club. The 6.9% ABV beer has notes of pine resin, bright citrus and lychee and is available at the brewery on draft or in cans to-go. While you’re there, sample one of Pinnacle's well-made European-inspired beers, such as its Czech pilsner Viktoria 12°, and grab a bite from the in-house food truck Fire & Braids.

The cups for Phoenix Open-inspired drinks can be just as fun as what's in them. At three of the Valley's Hash Kitchen locations, order the Call Me Caddy, which arrives in a commemorative green recycling bin cup.

Multiple locations
Three locations of chef Joey Maggiore’s vibey brunch spot Hash Kitchen are inviting diners to “come par-tee” with them starting on Thursday. In celebration of the Open, the Hash Kitchen locations in Gainey Village, Arcadia and north Scottsdale at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will serve a special sipper in a commemorative recycling bin cup. The Call Me Caddy takes the ingredients of a classic margarita and adds the canned cocktail Gin & Juice Citrus by Dre and Snoop. The specialty cocktail is available until Sunday.

Transfusion at Kona Grill at Desert Ridge

21001 N. Tatum Blvd.
Kona Grill, the steakhouse and seafood chain, will offer golf-inspired cocktails at its Phoenix outpost in Desert Ridge. Those include classic mules, bloody marys, a John Daly vodka-spiked iced tea and lemonade, or the Transfusion, made with vodka, fresh red grape juice, lime and ginger ale. Those who show their tickets from the Phoenix Open will also receive 20% off all food. The dining deal and cocktails are available through Sunday.
