Amy's Baking Company has a new neighbor that serves healthy eats rather than a healthy dose of straight-up crazy.

Open for about five weeks, Grabbagreen offers all-natural foods in a fast-casual setting. Diners can choose from breakfast bowls, fresh juices, smoothies, as well as hot and cold entrees. The restaurant, which has another location at 15689 North Hayden Road, comes comes courtesy of first-time owners Kelley Bird and Keely Newman.

You'll find the brightly lit juice bar and kitchen adjacent to the infamous baking company, in a shopping center located on the northwest corner of 74th Avenue and Shea Boulevard. The first location of Grabbagreen opened in August at the southwest corner of Loop 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.

Grabbagreen's menu gives plenty of choices, as well as the option to create your own meal in nearly every category. Juices come in a variety of flavors from the mildly flavored "Boost," with cucumber, ginger, lemon, and mint, to more exciting choices such as the "Viva," made with watermelon, beet, pear and garlic. The raw juices, made in-house daily, cost $6 for 12 ounces or $8 for 16 ounces.

Smoothies, $7 each, include the "Amazonian Whey" with banana, chocolate protein, whey protein, alkaline water, and honey, and the "Spiritulina," with mango, banana, spinach, spirulina, green tea, and honey.

For more substantial fare, Grabbagreen offers grains-based bowls and five salads. All of the menu is gluten-free, so look for ingredients like brown rice, quinoa, and quinoa noodles. Each bowl also comes with a selection of fresh vegetables, often a protein, and a housemade sauce -- think chimichurri, creamy avocado, and Mediterranean pomegranate.

You can also choose to "Grab Your Own" and create a juice, smoothie, salad, or bowl of your own creation.

Grabbagreen offers online ordering at both locations and makes nutrition information available on their website as well. The menu notes which menu items and/or ingredients are organic, vegan, free-range or farmed and hormone free -- making for a truly transparent dining experience.
