According to research done by the Optometrists Association of Tasmania in Australia, the super cool sidebangs that block your your eye will likely result in amblyopia, the medical term for lazy eye.

"If a young emo chap has a fringe covering one eye all the time, that eye won't see a lot of detail," writes the association's education director Andrew Hogan. "And if it happens from a young age, that eye can become amblyotic."
Hogan also notes that the head tilt that often comes with your super cool haircut is definitely messing up your posture and neck muscles.
