Love Stinks

Southwest Shakespeare Company is serving up a theatrical juxtaposition of romantic comedy and tragedy with a seasonal pairing of Shakespearean classics. Taking to the stage first is the centuries old story of love and marriage as told through the misfit couple Kate and Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew. Then comes the contrastingly dark drama of rife with betrayal, greed, witches, and despair that is arguably Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy, Macbeth. Winterfest: The Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth is presented Friday, January 10, through Saturday, January 25, at at Mesa Art Center’s Virginia G. Piper Repertory Theater, One East Main Street.
