Today: Country and Sergio Velador of Super Chunk Sweets and Treats
If you've ever stepped foot inside Super Chunk Sweets and Treats in Scottsdale, then you already know that owners Country and Sergio Velador like to keep things fun. Their colorful candy shop offers everything from hand-pulled taffy to whimsical miniature birthday cakes covered in rainbow sprinkles and much of the sweet stock is made with local ingredients including artisan sugars, local honey, and mesquite flour. The couple brings years of experience in the restaurant business to the table — as well as years of Pie Social practice to this year's competition.
