Ahwatukee Red, White & Boom Fireworks Festival

If you'd prefer to kick off your Independence Day celebration a few days early, then Ahwatukee's Red, White & Boom Fireworks Festival has you covered. Attendees can enjoy live music, games, fireworks, and food and drinks from local vendors including Von Hanson Meats, Kona Ice of South Phoenix, Waffle Love AZ, and Waldo's BBQ & Catering. And if you really want to go all out, consider partaking in the all-you-can-eat cherry pie or hot dog eating contests. The festival runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and will be held at Pecos Park in Phoenix. Downtown Phoenix Pub Crawl

Independents Week continues this Saturday with a downtown Phoenix pub crawl. Stroll downtown as you sip on $4 libations at five local stops. Pub crawlers will meet at DeSoto Central Market to collect a pub crawl map and tickets for each stop before heading off to the next location. Participants can play a scavenger hunt game and compete for prizes. Pub crawl stops include DeSoto Central Market, The Cafe at Phoenix Public Market, FilmBar, Carly's Bistro, and The Nash. This is a 21-and-over event that's free to attend. Huss Brewing Company Dinner at Roka Akor
All weekend

Huss Brewing Company fans will want to consider dining at Scottsdale's Roka Akor this weekend when you can dig into plates like crispy fried red snapper with grapefruit ponzu paired with the Tempe brewery's Scottsdale Blonde. Dinner will be served in Roka Bar with open seating from 4:30 p.m. to close each night from today until July 4. Tickets cost $45 per person, and reservations are required. New Summer Menu at JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa

Scottsdale's JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa's R Bar has unveiled its summer specialty menu: Pork & Pinot. As you might have guessed from the name, the menu focuses on wine and pork pairings. Sample combos include crispy pork belly served over cheddar grits and topped with a bing cherry glaze intended to bring out the rich berry flavors of California's Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir.
