It's been five years since Pop the Soda Shop, once the Valley's best destination for rare and vintage sodas, closed it doors, moved briefly into The Duce in downtown Phoenix, and then disappeared.

That is, until about five months ago.

In March, Pop the Soda Shop made its return this time in West Phoenix, specifically at 12038 North 35th Avenue, next door to Rocket Burger and Subs. It's a logical fit; since opening its doors in 2010, Rocket Burgers and Subs has been a West Valley destination for soda lovers, stocking about 300 different types of bottled carbonated drinks. Now owners Steve Nash and Dennis Green (not the former Phoenix sports figures) have tripled the selection with Pop the Soda Shop.

The store stocks more than 1,000 kinds of soda, water, juices, and tea — you can view a product list on the Pop the Soda Shop website. Soda aficionados can look forward to everything from A&W Root Beer to Zuberfizz Vanilla Cream Soda.

Pop the Soda Shop is open from 11 a.m. to 7p.m. Monday to Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

For more information, check the Pop the Soda Shop website and Facebook.
