"Called Clever Koi, Porter's new restaurant will open this fall in a remodeled building at 4236 North Central Avenue (next to George & Dragon at Central and Glenrosa)."
"After being closed for five months, on Tuesday, the charming spot at the Farm at South Mountain reopened under new management, a new chef, and a brand new menu -- one that still focuses on farm-to-table food, but in a more approachable way as well as with larger portions."
"On the heels of opening its newest Valley location on the southwest corner of 16th Street and Bethany Home Road, Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill has set its sights on a brand-new concept: tacos served up inside an old church."
"Set those alarm clocks, breakfast biters. Snooze Eatery, the Colorado-based breakfast and brunch joint that's had the Valley buzzing since the announcement of its first Arizona location in the Town & Country Shopping Center in May, has set a grand opening date. "
"The family-owned local chain that's been making old-school Chicago-style pies in the Valley just shy of 40 years has announced their newest location, a 10,000-square-foot space at 5509 North 7th Street in Central Phoenix (7th Street and Missouri), will officially open Monday, November 25."
"There's a new spot for craft beer and wine on Grand Avenue now that a cozy-looking new watering hole has opened behind The Groove on Grand, a mixed-use development in the heart of the Grand Ave Arts and Small Business District."
"Unlike Sportsman's, The Wine Store will not be carrying any hard liquor, just beer and wine. And though Sportsman's was known for its extensive collection of more then 3,000 brands of wine, the new store will reportedly be carrying some new labels that Sportsman's didn't stock. "
"Scottsdale-ites who love the hand-held turnovers known as pasties will now be able to get their fill in their own neighborhood. The third location of Cornish Pasty Co., founded by Cornwall, England, native Dean Thomas, opened for business Wednesday at 3800 North Goldwater Boulevard in Scottsdale."
"After closing up her Midtown shop at 610 Roosevelt Street in June, Coe re-opened this past weekend with a few décor changes and two new offerings to join her selection of cakes, cookies, and pastries. "
"But as of next week, Carefree Station's owners Robert and Linda Gabrick (who also own Prescott Station) will start anew with Scottsdale Station, their restaurant of globally inspired cuisine located at 8220 North Hayden Road (at Via de Ventura and Hayden in The Village at Hayden)."
"When the restaurant gods shutter a Monk, they open a Bootlegger.
At least that's the case with Praying Monk, restaurateur and chef Aaron May's stylish American beer cafe in Old Town Scottsdale opened in May of last year. Shuttered last night, Praying Monk, located at 7217 East First Street, will become the second location of Bootleggers, the barbecue pit gone gastropub in North Phoenix. "
Closings
- Salty Senorita, Scottsdale
- Cadillac Ranch, Tempe
- BoomBozz Pizza & Taphouse, Gilbert
- Latitude Eight Thai Grill, Chandler
"After 10 years, Old Town's Salty Señorita is ready for a makeover. And she's getting one in spades. "
"After six years, Cadillac Ranch, the little bit country, little bit rock 'n' roll bar and restaurant in the District at Tempe Marketplace, is shuttering this weekend.
And as you might expect, the hangout for ASU students and general party hounds into Southwestern pub grub, endless drink specials, and entertainment like dancing, live music, and riding a mechanical bull, won't be going out quietly."
