Located on Main Street in downtown Mesa, the new brewpub and beer garden have been under construction for months, with many delays pushing out the proposed opening date. In July, brewery owner and prolific Valley restaurateur Julian Wright announced the Mesa location would open on Sept. 26. After that month came and went, October seemed hopeful.
Last week, it seemed the wait would finally be over. The company, which also has locations in Tempe, Chandler and downtown Phoenix, invited customers to come and check out the new digs on Friday.
But the 6,000-square-foot patio and adjacent dining area remained empty all weekend.
On Monday, the company posted an announcement to its social media pages.
"It's been a challenging couple of weeks trying to get our Mesa location opened," the post says. "Between trying to read the tea leaves and getting mixed signals we've inaccurately predicted our opening date. Sorry for the confusion."
Looking forward, the company is hesitant to announce another opening date, according to the post, "until we pass all of our finals."
Those final inspections have been difficult, the post says, as it's not "an easy task converting an auto body shop into a biergarten."
The post also thanks customers for their patience — something that, given all of the delays, may be wearing thin.
