On the heels of last week's opening of Huss Brewing Co., the Tempe brewery from husband-and-wife-team Jeff and Leah Huss, comes a second East Valley brewing establishment ready to kick up the craft when it comes to local ales.
From 11 a.m. until midnight Monday, September 2, Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. (AWBC) will help celebrate Labor Day with their official grand opening celebration at 721 North Arizona Avenue (southeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Guadalupe), in Gilbert.
Founded by friends Jonathan Buford, Tim Isaac, and Patrick Ware, who started brewing beer in a garage in 2010, AWBC came about with the help of a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2012.

With a mission to "be friends with your tongue, make love in your stomach, and room with your liver," AWBC's ultimate goal is to provide four core and six seasonal beers with a "brewers choice" handle just to keep things interesting. For now, you'll find five beers on tap: A Refuge IPA, Little Guy Rye, Estrella Pale, Red Rock Secret, and the sour wheat beer, Bear Wallow Berliner Weiss.
During its soft opening, which started Saturday, August 24, AWBC has been open from 3 until 9 p.m. daily and a food truck has been on hand for the eats, but come grand opening day, its hours will expand to 11 a.m. until midnight and food will be served from its in-house kitchen.
On Monday, per its Facebook page, the brewery ran out of its $10 signature growlers, but guests are invited to bring in their own for a fill-up.
