Artist Daniel Lopatin, better known as Oneohtrix Point Never, is truly a 21st century creative. While his palette isn't particularly original, his vision is strikingly so. Rather than hiding behind subterfuge masquerading as originality like so many of today's songwriters, Lopatin opts for a clever aural melange, leaning heavily on the infinite expanse of synths and samples to paint his vivid soundscapes. The results soun d strikingly modern, are often quite accessible, and are unflinchingly exploratory. He's kinda like a Brian Eno for Millennials, and that's definitely a good thing. OPN performs for free at 8 p.m. at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex on ASU's West campus, 4701 West Thunderbird Road in Glendale, on Thursday, March 26. The multimedia performance includes projections from visual artist Nate Boyce. Visit campus.asu.edu/west/events for details.
