It's been more than two years since local restaurateur Sam Fox brought "the greatest neighborhood restaurant" to south side of Camelback Road just east of 44th Street. When it debuted in early 2012, The Henry (and the coffee shop inside the restaurant) represented the 14th and 15th concepts to come from Fox's Fox Restaurant Concepts, joining a portfolio of successful restaurants that includes Culinary Dropout at The Yard, True Food Kitchen, and North Italia.

Now, Fox is ready to bring another dining spot to the Arcadia neighborhood. Called Doughbird, Fox's 16th restaurant will serve "seasonal and signature fresh-baked pizzas and hand-rubbed, organic rotisserie chickens." The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and will be located on the southwest corner of Indian School Road and 44th Street, about a mile south of The Henry and Fox Restaurant Concepts' headquarters.

Doughbird's menu will combine high-end ingredients with house-made doughs ranging from whole-wheat to rye to gluten-free. Expect pizzas such as brisket, hot and sour mustard, and shishito peppers; crispy pastrami with gruyere cheese; and chanterelles and maitaki mushrooms with crispy kale and fontina.

Rotisserie chickens will come in a variety of flavors, including Mexican Coke barbecue sauce, lemon rosemary herb, sriracha-soy glazed, and a rotating seasonal bird. Available for both dine-in and to-go, each chicken will be paired with a "specialty or customized backyard side."

The Doughbird menu will be rounded out with sandwiches, salads, and freshly baked bread — in fact, the restaurant looks to be a carb-lover's paradise with options such as ciabatta with hot butter, garlic, and parsley; fontina truffle butter bread; and rolled salami and cheese bread.

Sitting at 5,550-square-feet, Doughbird will be designed after a Northern California home. Design features will include wooden, bow truss ceilings; a bar overlooking an expo kitchen; and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to a semi-wraparound patio.

Doughbird is expected to open in spring 2017. For updates, check the Doughbird website
