Get excited, beer and cocktail lovers, because O.H.S.O. owner Jon Lane is getting ready to open a second location in Scottsdale within the next few months.
Lane says the second O.H.S.O. will be at 15681 North Hayden Road in Scottsdale, inside a shopping center located south of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard off Loop 101. Fans of the Arcadia location can look forward to a similar menu of food, plenty of beers, and, yes, another dog-friendly patio.

What might be the most exciting part of the new location is that Lane says he's also going to start doing small-batch distilling. It won't be a retail-type operation, as O.H.S.O. will be distilling pretty much exclusively for its own use, but Lane says he'll definitely be doing both clear and brown spirits.
The owner is pretty confident you can look forward to new, locally made vodka and whiskey -- and he's not ruling out the possibility of making rum, gin, and moonshine as well.
He says part of the motivation to explore the spirit world comes from the fact that he recently discovered he's allergic to beer, a pretty big bummer considering he's a home brewer and all-around beer aficionado. Doctors believe the long-term exposure to beer and its ingredients worsened Lane's existing allergy.
The new restaurant and bar, which is smaller than the Arcadia spot, will have a different menu but will carry over some of the signature items from the first location. There will also be a more extensive cocktail and wine selection. The hours will be roughly the same.
Customers won't be able to get involved in the distilling process in the way they currently can at O.H.S.O in Phoenix, but Lane says he'll probably offer walk-throughs of the distillery during which you'll be able to get an overview of the process.
He expects to open O.H.S.O. in Scottsdale either on Tuesday, May 13 or the following Tuesday. Distilling won't begin until about August, when Lane's acquired the necessary permits.
O.H.S.O. Eatery and Nano Brewery opened in Arcadia in 2011 and offers a restaurant and small-batch brewery where brewers can brew their own beer and then get it on tap.
