Many of you will assume were Looney Tunes when we say you should join the Dog Day Moon Full Moon Sunset Hike at South Mountain Park and Preserve. And your reasoning is immaculate: The hikes outside, and so is the friggin heat. But moonlight hikes in the desert are a special breed, and were apparently not the only unhinged screwballs who think so, cause registration for the hike was nearly full as we wrote this.
The guided 3.7-miler (round trip) starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Mormon Trailhead and ascends the Mormon Loop to the top of the range at Hidden Valley.
