It's been 18 months or so since Scottsdale's Cream Stereo Lounge opened its doors to the public, and for the life of us we can't remember a time when the titular milk-based substance has ever been employed at the Old Town hotspot.
That all changes tonight as club promoter Brian Durkee presents the Whipped Cream Swimwear Affair during the Cream's weekly Blush Thursdays night. According to Cream's website, female patrons won't have to don the dessert product as their dresswear (a la Ali Later in that rather infamous scene in Varisty Blues), but rather are encouraged to come sporting their sexiest swimming outfits.
Once inside, these lovely lasses can choose to square off against their fellow females in wrestling matches that will be held a special "custom made cream pit," or just kick back and enjoy the beats being blasted throughout the club.

Whipped Cream Swimwear Affair at Cream Stereo Lounge (Thursday):
Ladies who arrive wearing bikinis or other sultry swimwear can get free admission to the party, which will also feature the aforementioned "whipped cream wrestling matches" with a $200 cash prize for the winner, as well as special ladies-only VIP areas, giveaways, two-for-one cocktails until 11 p.m., and music from DJ Thomas James. 9 p.m. (4252 N. Hellzapoppin Sideshow Revue at Clubhouse (Thursday): "Normally touring with gargantuan rock festivals like Vans Warped Tour, Hellzapoppin keeps audiences squealing for nail-biting close-ups that include this long list of depravities: genuine human oddities, sword swallowing, the human blockhead, fire eating, the bed of nails, the blade box, western bullwhip demonstrations, contortionists, and electrical death defying stunts. Tiny Mesa Poetry Slam at Queen's Bakery & Pizzeria (Thursday):

It's a safe bet that the slumber parties you went to as a kid were nowhere as sexy as this evening-long lingerie and pajama party being put on the Nap Boyz DJ crew (their motto, BTW: "Sleep is for suckrz!"). Spend the evening in the company of a bounty of bodacious babes who will be sporting their finest unmentionables while the turntable trio of DJ M2, Megaman, and J. Scratch spin hip-hop and Top 40. The Preservation at Yucca Tap Room (Friday):
While Mario Matteoli might have outgrown his old band The Weary Boys, the 29-year-old singer-songwriter certainly hasn't abandoned the multifaceted genre of Americana. In the two years since his former band went its separate ways, Matteoli's been been racheting out plenty of country-fried ditties both as a solo act and as the ringleader of his newest group The Preservation. The Austin-based fivesome will be in town this weekend to entertain the folks down at the Yucca Tap with their down-home stylings. Pitch & Moan at the Lost Leaf (Saturday):
The May edition of this monthly turntablist throwdown -- which pairs together different local DJs for an evening of collaborative 2x4 sets -- must not have been all that satisfying to the participants, as a "re-boot" of night is happening this weekend at a whole new location. And while Scottsdale's Rogue Bar has been ditched in favor of downtown's Lost Leaf, the event will still offer up "an unexpected eclectic night" of mixing and music, including such pairings as Bigie and Kris the Fist, as well as Ellery and Riot Earp. Dee Dee Dynamo of Provocatease Burlesque will host, and a beer tasting and skateboard demo will also take place. 6 p.m., free. (914 N. 5th St., 602-258-0014)
Party on the Patio at Chester's Harley Davidson (Saturday):

Josiah Wolf at The Trunk Space (Sunday):
Although he's best known as the drummer for Berkley's favorite indie rock/hip-hop outfit WHY? -- as well as being the brother of the group's vocalist Jonathan "Yoni" Wolf -- Josiah Wolf has a penchant for jazz-influenced psych pop. So much so that the curly-haired cat released his own solo album Jet Lag earlier this year and is currently touring the country in support of. Wolf is hitting the Trunk Space for a Sunday evening show, which also boasts performances by Portland indie act Cars and Trains, locals The Whisperlights, and others. 7 p.m., $8.
