The fifth annual Good Food Awards Ceremony and Gala Reception were held on Thursday, January 8 at the Palace of Fine Arts Theater in San Francisco. Every year the awards recognize food producers from across the country who provide their communities with "truly good food -- the kind that brings people together and builds strong, healthy communities."
Among the winning companies this year is AZ Queen Bee, a local company owned by bee keeper and honeymaker Emily Brown.

AZ Queen Bee is one of 11 winners in the "Honey" category and is recognized specifically for her pure raw honeycomb. Brown's company is the only Arizona winner in the 2015 awards.
In addition to offering customers raw honeycomb and pure honey, Brown also sells honey products such as beeswax lip balms, honey bath bombs, rolled candles, and pollen. Brown also provides live bee removal services.
Brown started beekeeping in York County, Pennsylvania but moved to Phoenix and eventually chose to pursue a beekeeping as a business. In addition to being the "Resident Beekeeper" for the Butterfly Wonderland in North Scottsdale, Brown is a member of the American Beekeeping Federation.
