Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Colorado Rockies

It’s been an eventful offseason for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team replaced its GM and manager, shipped off star catcher Miguel Montero and acquired a stable of young power pitchers. The overhaul was needed because whatever the D-Backs were doing before wasn’t working -- as evidenced by their one winning season in six years -- but only time will tell if the new direction will work any better.

We’ll get our first glimpse at the new-look Diamondbacks when they open up Cactus League play on Wednesday, March 4, against the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Field, 7555 North Pima Road in Scottsdale. It probably won’t be either team’s best game, but it will be their first.

First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. Tickets start at $10 and are available online via
