One doesn’t need night-vision goggles to enjoy an evening tour of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, but it would probably add a cool affect. The 90-minute tour is pretty darn cool anyway, offering a unique look at Wright’s masterpiece home as highlighted by angled and jutting shadows and dark, deep crevices of mystery and intrigue. The walking tour goes through the home, including visits to the dining room (tea and cookies are served), living room, studio, gardens, terraces, theater, and other spaces inside and out as the Valley sparkles in the distance. Appreciate the clever and esoteric design aspects that meld past and future and never seem out of time, but keep your eyes open for Wright’s fire-breathing dragon. Now that might be worth bringing goggles.

The moon will be full when the Friday, August 30, tours begin at 6:30 and 7 p.m at 12621 North Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard in Scottsdale. Tickets are $35. The event is not recommended for children under 13. Visit www.franklloydwright.org/about/TaliesinWestTours.html or call 888-516-0811.
