Tongue Tied Phoenix is putting on a special Día de Los Muertos dance party. The event, dubbed Dance of the Dead, will feature two dance floors with beats by DJs Roya and Funkfinger, as well as Motown on Mondays Phoenix. Also on tap will be skull face-painting, trivia contests, live painting by Dumperfoo, a pop-up store featuring Día de los Muertos crafts by Skulls ThatBloom, and a music altar where partygoers can pay tribute with cassettes, LPs, and photos.

In addition to the movie passes, drink tickets, gift cards, cab vouchers, and other prizes being handed out throughout the evening, guests are encouraged to put on their best muertos attire to win a booze basket for best spirit. The dance party runs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, November 1, at Apollo’s Lounge, 5749 North Seventh Street. Cover is free before 9:30 p.m. and $5 after.
