62. Crawfish at Angry Crab Shack
You're going to want to remember one word when you go to Angry Crab Shack in Mesa: "Trifecta." It's the restaurant's signature seasoning flavor (a combination of lemon pepper, garlic and "Kajun" sauces) and you can order it on a number of different types of seafood including crab, shrimp, clams, and crawfish, when they're available seasonally. You can also order your food at a desired level of spice, and though they'll tell you "mild" is for wimps, I think it's plenty hot enough.

As for your choice of seafood, the shrimp is usually a safe bet. One pound is pretty filling and costs less than lobster or crab. But if you're going all in, you ought to order some crawfish when they're available. At about $9 a pound they're also an affordable choice — though you'll probably want two or three pounds per diner. The crustaceans are a lot of work for a little meat, but pulling off the heads and sucking out the juices and meat from each tiny one is both fun and a great reward in the flavor department.
