Juan Carlos Lenz and the other hipster DJs behind the new monthly dance affair Mean Streets aren't lacking in confidence, by any means. Check out the event's Facebook page as evidence of such, as Lenz and company declare that the night will be "a party extraordinaire featuring some of the Valley's baddest." Based on this boast (as well as their previous success with such hepcat hootenannies as Ransom and Party Foul), we've got nary a doubt that the beautiful people will be in abundance at Brick, 455 North Third Street, on the first Friday of every month. In addition to Lenz (who performs as DJ BC/AD), the event features spin sessions from Joshie, Girth Brooks, Frank the Tank, and Thunderfucker. Mean Streets' debut night on Friday, May 6, will also include gigs by local indie darlings Hooves and What Laura Says. The music starts at 10 p.m. and there's no cover. Call 602-258-3665.
