At Sunnyslope's Let It Roll Bowl, the days of mole and tlayudas sharing the same space as strikes and spares is no more.

Last month, Oaxaca Restaurant, the Mexican eatery inside the vintage bowling alley at 8925 North 12th Street, pulled up stakes, moving into a new space in North Phoenix and changing its name to Cocina Oaxaqueña.

Cocina Oaxaqueña's new location is a strip mall space at 1818 West Bethany Home Road (19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road). The family-owned restaurant is set up more or less like its former bowling alley home: a small market of Mexican goods as well as an eatery featuring a selection of the Southwestern Mexico state's cuisine like mole, enfrijoladas, and tlayudas, sometimes referred to as Mexican pizzas.

When asked the reason for moving out of Let It Roll Bowl, an employee of Cocina Oaxaqueña simply said the restaurant had "a problem with the owner." The bowling alley's new restaurant tenant is Pizza Re, an extension of the pizzeria in Scottsdale.
