This week, Serious Eats, the website and blog created by food critic and author Ed Levine and winner of two James Beard awards, released its first publication entitled, "Serious Eats: A Comprehensive Guide to Making and Eating Delicious Food Wherever You Are."

The new book features recipes as well as listings of the best fast food, local restaurants, food trucks, and fine dining establishments from coast to coast -- and it looks like a few favorites in the Valley got some serious shout-outs.

No-brainers Sweet Republic made the ice cream list, Matt's Big Breakfast the breakfast list, and both Pane and Pizzeria Bianco made the must-try sandwiches and favorite pizzerias list (Chris Bianco is also listed as one of "10 Chefs leading the Farm-To-Table Scene."). The Fry Bread House (finally) gets discovered as one of the best fried bites, and Jeff Kraus' now-defunct Truckin' Good Food gets a shout out for favorite street food shops. (Clarification: Kraus no longer has a food truck and is in the process of transitioning Truckin' Good Food from street to restaurant.)
