It’s no joke that great, lusty swaths of the male demographic find Iliza Shlesinger visually appealing. Yet there are reasons aplenty the Dallas native was crowned the sixth-season winner of NBC’s reality contest Last Comic Standing, and they aren’t merely her blonde tresses, her sultry baby blues, and her perfect figure. Shlesinger’s no-nonsense outlook, twisty-turns of detail and character, and deliberate flipping of industry-wide stereotyping characterize a performer who’s just as comedically appealing. Rest assured, the big win was no fluke – the ComedySportz vet and 2007 victor of MySpace ’s “So You Think You’re Funny” contest also boasts such résumé-boosters as the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, The Soup, Chelsea Lately, Comics Unleashed, and TheStream.tv’s The Weakly News.
