An electrical fire gutted the Blooze Bar burned last week, leaving the NoPho venue out of commission for some time.

As we told you yesterday, some of the joint's regulars are pitching in to raise funds for the folks left jobless by the inferno. First, Whiskey Six is hosting a benefit Thursday at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale. Whiskey Six singer Chris Strickler said it was the right thing to do:

"It's been amazing how fast everyone has come together to help [owner] Tumbleweed and the people who worked at the Blooze Bar," says Strickler. "The Blooze Bar meant a lot to the music community in the Valley -- it was a great place to play and had that friendly 'neighborhood bar' vibe to it. Tumbleweed treats everyone with respect, he doesn't view bands as a commodity to make money off of but as true friends. So when we all heard about the fire, we knew we had to do something. Even the other venues such as Martini Ranch, Joe's Grotto and the Steelhorse Saloon immediately offered to help, which is pretty amazing considering the Blooze Bar was a competitor in a tough economy."
